LG Barcelona and Mercedes Benz deliver two Smart vehicles to ARI Project
Xavier Beltran, general director of LG Barcelona, official Mercedes-Benz dealer, has delivered two Smart vehicles to the ARI Project. This contribution guarantees improved care for leukemia and transplant patients at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. The hospital's medical director, Antoni Castells; the director of the Institute of Hematology and Oncology (ICHMO), the Dr. Álvaro Urbano, and the head of the Home Care Unit, the Dr. Francesc Fernandez of l'Hospital Clínic.
The ARI Project is based on two pillars: research, focused on the implementation of CART therapy, and care, which aims to improve home care for leukemia and transplant patients; open the Day Hospital at night and weekends and create a new space for reduced stay.
The donation from LG Barcelona and Mercedes Benz represents an improvement in the healthcare aspect of the Project, since it consolidates the Home Care Unit of the Hospital Clínic aimed at people with leukemia and solid tumors. This prevents patients from having to travel to the hospital and minimizes the risk of suffering from infections or other complications.
Currently, the only option for assistance at night and weekends is to go to the hospital emergency department.
