Its sportiness and driving fun have been improved with an updated design, digital instrument cluster and DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension. New four-cylinder engines, some of them equipped with 48 V EQ Boost technology, and the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC (combined consumption: 9.8-9.2 l/100 km; CO emissions2 combined: 223-212 g/km)[1], now with 287 kW (390 HP), underline the dynamism of the C Coupé and Cabrio. New engines for the C-Class Saloon and Estate are also introduced to the product offering, including the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC (combined consumption: 9.4-9.1 l/100 km; CO emissions2 combined: 214-208 g/km)1.

In this update the C-Class receives new engines:
- New four-cylinder gasoline engine with 1,5 liter displacement in the C200. At the same time, these models are equipped with an additional 48-volt network with a belt-driven starter/alternator (EQ Boost).
- The new C 220 d It has a four-cylinder diesel engine, belonging to a family of latest generation engines. It incorporates innovative technologies such as the combination of aluminum in the block and steel pistons, stratified combustion as well as improvements in NANOSLIDE coating® of the cylinder liners.
- The new 6-liter V3,0 engine fitted to the AMG C 43 4MATIC is now being developed 287 kW (390 HP), which represents an increase of 17 kW (23 HP) compared to the previous model.
The main improvements in the equipment available for the C-Class are:
- Driving Assistance Package Plus: The C-Class incorporates the latest driver assistance systems with functions adopted from the S-Class such as route-based driver support. The DISTRONIC Active Distance Control System and Active Steering Assistant now provide more comfortable support. The vehicle now adjusts speed automatically when approaching intersections, curves or roundabouts.
- DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension, equipped with continuous adjustment of the damping of the front and rear axles. The system individually controls the damping characteristics of each wheel and coordinates them with the properties of the engine, gearbox and steering to adapt to driving conditions, speed and road conditions. The individual suspension settings can be adjusted in three modes using the DYNAMIC SELECT selector: “Sport”, “Sport+” and “Comfort”.
- Headlights MULTIBEAMLED with ULTRA RANGE high beam lights They allow extremely fast and precise adjustment to traffic and road conditions. Each headlight has 84 individually controlled LEDs. This equipment has additional functions compared to the previous Intelligent Light System LED headlights (19 LEDs in each headlight): intersection light, roundabout light, city light and light for adverse weather conditions. When no other road users are detected, the road is straight and the vehicle speed is greater than 40 km/h, the ULTRA RANGE high beam lights are switched on automatically. This produces the maximum luminous intensity allowed by law, resulting in an illumination level that only decays by 1 lux from 650 meters.

Mercedes-AMG: more features for the C 43
The C 43 4MATIC in its four available bodies is Mercedes-AMG's best-selling model. AMG's development specialists have implemented a host of carefully coordinated measures to further improve driving dynamics. The 6-liter V3,0 engine now develops 287 kW (390 hp), i.e. 17 kW (23 hp) more than before. In conjunction with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive that prioritizes axle propulsion, this powerful engine combines dynamism with comfort for long journeys. The maximum torque of 520 Nm is available over a wide speed range, from 2.500 to 5.000 rpm. The new C 43 4MATIC Coupé and Saloon complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,7 seconds, while the Cabrio and Estate do it in 4,8 seconds. The speed is limited electronically when reaching 250 km/h.
As if it were a virtual engineer, the AMG TRACK PACE is responsible for collecting more than 80 vehicle parameters when driving on closed circuits. Data such as speed and acceleration are recorded ten times per second. In addition, the times per lap and sector are shown, showing their difference with the reference times.
