On January 20, the presentation of the new Mercedes EQA, the brand's first Compact SUV that joins the already well-known EQ range of 100% electric vehicles.
As we have already seen when it comes to EQ vehicles, Mercedes-Benz brings all its innovations in terms of technology. Both externally and internally the SKIP It follows the same steps as the range, showing cutting-edge technology at the base of an electric car.
El EQA has been assembled on the basis of the GLA SUV and therefore maintains the same proportions although 5 cm higher and 6 cm longer.
Design, autonomy and performance:
The Mercedes EQA is distinguished by the already characteristic hallmark of EQ vehicles. A large grill called “Black Panel”, painted in piano black, and that for the SKIP has been covered with the objective of reduce the coefficient of friction, thus improving the aerodynamics of the vehicle, reducing consumption and increasing autonomy.

The Black Panel grille wrapped with an LED strip that runs from end to end Extreme brings presence and a distinctive touch to the EQA. Loading capacity
Slightly longer than GLA, the new EQA allows a cargo capacity of 340 liters, extendable to 1320 liters when the seats are folded down. This capacity has not been diminished by the use of batteries since these, as with the EQC model, have been located at the lowest point of the vehicle, the floor area, which guarantees greater stability and dynamism in curves.
Driving modes
El EQA has different driving modes which can be preselected using the dynamic select button located next to the palm rest and from which it is easily accessed with the thumb and index finger of the right hand.
Among the different driving modes, it is worth highlighting the ECO mode, a mode that is clearly focused on increasing and respecting the kilometers of autonomy that its batteries can provide.
With 190 hp (140 kW), front-wheel drive and 0 to 100 km/h in 8,6 seconds, the new Mercedes EQA is capable of traveling 426 km with ECO driving. But also, since it is a purely electric vehicle, the power delivery is done immediately, which gives the impression that we are facing a vehicle with more horsepower, especially if we use the Sport mode. Of course, we do not recommend abusing this mode and much less accelerating as we will see how the battery charge considerably decreases.
Another interesting point that we had already seen in EQ Power models is the energy recovery by vehicle retention. We can vary the retention of the EQA to favor the loading of the vehicle using the paddles located behind the steering wheel.
Interior:
In its interior, it has two interactive screens of 7 inches as standard or 10,25 inches as optional that facilitate interaction with MBUX. In addition, the navigation system includes a function called Electric Intelligence, which calculates the fastest route to reach the destination taking into account necessary stops to recharge, terrain, weather conditions or traffic.
As a novelty The new EQA from Mercedes-Benz allows you to pre-condition the interior area of the vehicle before starting the engine by means of a heat pump, installed as standard, which takes advantage of the residual heat of the electric propulsion.
